Thapar University MCA Entrance Test
Thapar University which was earlier known as Thapar Institute of Technology and Engineering is one of the most recognized universities in India. It offers MCA program under the guidance of UGC. The entrance exam is conducted for the total of 120 seats and usually held in mid June.
Students who want to pursue MCA program from Thapar University must be passed out 10+2+3 with at least 55%. Mathematics subject in both secondary as well as in degree level should be taken. Students who are NRI and students from other countries should bring 60% marks in degree course.
Pattern of Test:
The MCA entrance test in Thapar University consists of 1 paper with 3 hr duration. Questions are asked from subjects like Mathematics, Computer Awareness, General Knowledge and Analytical Awareness. There are 200 questions that are to be attended. The questions are being segregated as:
• Maths: 80 marks
• Computer Awareness: 60 marks
• General Knowledge and Analytical Ability: 60 marks.
The application form for the MCA entrance exam can be taken university cash counter by paying Rs 1,000/-. Form can also be obtained by paying DD of Rs 1050/- that is drawn in the favor of registrar of university. The form can also be downloaded from university site www.tiet.ac.in with the payment of Rs 1000/-.
The syllabus for MCA entrance exam for the 2 subject is mentioned below:
Mathematics: Geometry, Algebra, Calculus, Vector Analysis, Statistics and Probability, Equations and Numerical Analysis.
In Computer Awareness: Computer Basics, Data Representation and Computer Architecture.
Genera Ability: Quantitative Reasoning, Visual- spatial and also questions from IT and Transportation.
