Admissions to B.A.(H.) Journalism
The B.A. (Hons.) Journalism course was started in the University of Delhi in the year 1989. Delhi College of Arts and Commerce was the first to start this prestigious course and today five colleges of the University of Delhi are proud to offer the same which include Delhi College of Arts and Commerce, Kamala Nehru College, Lady Shri Ram College for Women, Kalindi College and Maharaja Agrasen College.

During its short but brilliant history, the course has carved a niche for itself and continues to be one of the most sought after courses of the University of Delhi. The overall goal is to realise not only the professional but the intellectual and creative growth of students and develop a vibrant chord with the media industry.

This website caters to the admissions to B.A. (H.) Journalism.

Note:- Those candidates who are unable to apply online may take the assistance of the staff at Maharaja Agrasen College between 10 AM to 4 PM on working days.

Date of Entrance Test: June 19, 2011 (Sunday)

1) Availability of applications forms: May 20, 2011 (Friday) 00:00hrs

2) Last date for the submission of application forms: June 5, 2011 (Sunday) by 00:00 hrs

3) Date of Entrance test  (C-JET) June 19,2011(Sunday) at 9:30am to12noon

4) Declaration of results of written test:  June 29, 2011 (Thursday) by 16:00 hrs

5) Interview: July 2, 2011 to July 8, 2011
6) Declaration of final result: July 11,2011 by 16:00 hrs
7) 1st  Counselling and admission July 14, 2011 to July 16, 2011
8) 2nd   Counselling and admission: July 18, 2011 to July 20, 2011
9 3rd  Counselling and admission (if required): July  21, 2011 to July 23, 2011
*Please note that candidates must report to their respective centres latest by 9:00 a.m.

Admission Requirements: 

Candidates are required to deposit the following to the respective College office when they take admission to the B.A.(Hons.) Journalism course:
Fees payable in cash.
Two passport size coloured photographs
Character Certificate by the head of the institution last attended.
All original certificates
Class X certificate as evidence of Date of Birth
Marks Statement of Class XII
Category certificate (for Reserved Categories) along with one attested photocopy of each of the above documents.

About Delhi University (DU)
Delhi University was formed in 1922 by Government of India. The University is located at the capital place of India, Delhi. The short name of University is DU. This is public type of University. University was established under the act of Central Legislative Assembly. Delhi University has two campuses in Delhi, One is North campus and other is South campus. Both campuses are at different side of Delhi city. Connectivity of both campuses is also very good. North campus is connected by the Delhi metro service while South campus is very near from the Delhi Vidhan Sabha. Both the campuses are urban campus.
The motto of the Delhi University is “Dedicated to Truth”. University offers various programmes at under graduate and post graduate level. This all programmes or courses are available on full time education mode and also on distance education mode. Currently around 220,000 students are possessing different courses in the University. Mohammad Hamid Ansari is the Chancellor of the Delhi University; he is also a vice president of India. Dinesh Singh is the Vice Chancellor of the University. University has 317 ranks from all over the world in the ranking of THES – QS.
Delhi University offers various world class facilities to the students who possessing different course in it. The library of University has the DULS system. Under the DULS 34 library of the University is connected with the electronic database system. The benefit of this system is student can get the access to library from anywhere through the internet. It also conducts (ILP) Information Literacy Programs regularly to provide the information about the different resources. Delhi University also has good hostel facility for the students who are from outside states. University provides different hostel for girls and boys.
