IIM Common Admission Test CAT Syllabus Eligibility Sample Paper Pattern

Common Admission Test (CAT)
Common admission test is conducted all over India under the guidance of Indian Institute of Management (IIM). This exam is conducted for students who want to take admission for PG level management from any one IIM center. It is the most difficult entrance exam that is conducted. IIMs institute are renowned institutes around the world.  Apart from CAT exam, students also have to with GD, PI. Students can also take admission to any B-Schools in India.

Eligibility: 
Students who want to attend CAT exam should be graduate pass with at least 50% marks in aggregate from any recognized university.  Apart from it, students who are currently appearing for final year exam can also apply for CAT exam.

Different programs have different eligibility criteria:
Students who want pursue for PG program in Software Enterprise Management that is offered at IIM Bangalore and Calcutta should have 2 year work experience in any software industry.

Students who want to pursue PG Program in Public Policy and Management from IIM Bangalore should government official, civil society functionary are eligible for this course.

Examination Pattern:
CAT exam is usually conducted in the month of November or December and the pattern of the exam keeps changing. All the questions are objective type and number of questions changes from 60 to 70. There are negative marking for every wrong answer. The duration of the exam is not fixed.  Students have to write the exam only with HB pencil. There are four category from which exam is being conducted:

Verbal Ability
Reading Comprehension
Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning
Quantitative Ability
Apart from the written test candidate are also selected on the basis of GDPI.

Syllabus:
Generally in CAT exam candidates are being asked about arithmetical problems which are asked from Algebra, number theory, speed, percentage etc. Candidates are even asked from Geometry section too.  Apart from this, candidate should also know about the current affairs, Economics and Technology which can be beneficial during GDPI.

Application Procedure:
Students can obtain the application forms from selected branch of Axis Bank with the payment of Rs 1400/- . Students can also download the form from the CAT website, www.catiim.in .
