Duration : 3.1/2 years inclusive of six months of internship (Residential Course)

Examination Board & Registration : Delhi Nursing Council (DNC)

Affiliation : Indian Nursing Council, Delhi Nursing Council

ADMISSION:
Regular admission for Diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery programme will commence from 1st August 2010 for duration of 3.1/2 years inclusive of six month internship. It is residential training programme.

Eligibility Criteria for Admission

1) Minimum Qualification:
a) The candidate must have passed 10+2 examination or its equivalent from a recognized board/ university with minimum of 50% marks in aggregate of 10+2.
b) List of the subjects to be considered for admission is given below. Any five subjects including English (four subjects + English) from the list given below will be considered for admission. candidate must have passed in all the five subject being considered for admission. Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, English, Commerce, Accountancy, Economics, Business Studies, Computers, History, Geography, Civics, Sociology, Psychology, Hindi, Political Science, Home Science.

Those who have passed 10+2 vocational ANM course (revised after 2001) from the school recognized by Indian Nursing Council. ANM training that is 10+1.1/2 years of training should also have passed + 2 or its equivalent examination.

c) Relaxation of 5% marks shall be granted to candidates belonging to SC/ST category.

d) No other vocational courses are eligible.

2) Age: Minimum and maximum age for admission will be 17 and 30 years respectively as on 31.07.2011. (5 years upper age relaxation for SC/ST candidates)
3) Only unmarried/ divorcee/ widow without encumbrance female candidates need apply.
4) Candidate must be declared medically fit by the medical board of the G.T.B. Hospital.
5) Candidate must be an Indian Citizen.

Collection of Duplicate Roll No. if not received by post - 23.06.11 between 10 a.m. to 3.00 p.m.

Entrance Exam - 26.06.11

Display of result of Entrance test on the Notice - 21.07.11 at 4 p.m.

METHOD OF SELECTION
Candidate will be selected strictly on the basis of Merit of entrance test.

ENTRANCE TEST

Duration: - 2 hours only

Date of Entrance test: - 26.06.11 (10 a.m. – 12.00 noon) Report at 9. a.m. sharp.

ABOUT COMMON ENTRANCE TEST

The subject matter of the entrance test will be based on the syllabus of Sr. Secondary (10+2). The Entrance test will be of 100 marks of MCQ’s. More weightage will be given to science subjects to prefer science candidates.

Details of the distribution of marks for entrance test. Physics – 20, Chemistry – 20, Biology -20, English – 20, Elementary Maths – 10, General Questions -10

Each MCQ will have four (4) alternatives/ choices. There will be only one correct answer. One mark will be awarded for each correct answer. Circle the correct answer from the options.

Options:-

Key Points:-
1) You should attempt all the questions.
2) If you do not know the answer, do not attempt.
3) Do not spend too much time on one question.
4) After completing all the questions you can come back to the left out questions.
5) There will be no negative marking.

Note: - If roll number/ admit card not received by post latest by 22.06.11 then duplicate admit card/ roll number can be collected/ issued to eligible candidate personally from the school office on 23.06.11 up to 3. p.m. bring one passport size identified photograph.
- No postal correspondence will be done in this regard.

G. T. B. Hospital is the prestigious and largest Hospital of Govt   of NCT of Delhi in the Trans-Yamuna Area(East Delhi) with 1000 beds capacity.
It is a teaching hospital associated with the   University College of Medical Science, University of Delhi and, therefore, also serves as a training center for undergraduate and   post-graduate medical students.
The hospital is providing health care facilities   to the needy population of East Delhi and adjoining areas of other states with   an average daily OPD attendance of about 4000 patients.
