ADMISSION NOTICE

Session 2011-2012

Applications in prescribed form are invited for admission to the following courses of study in Assam University, Silchar H. Q. & Diphu Campus for the academic session commencing in July 2011.

SILCHAR CAMPUS ( H.Q.)

1. 4-Semester Post Graduate courses:

a) Master of Arts: Arabic, Bengali, English, Hindi, Manipuri, Linguistics, Sanskrit, Economics, History, Political science, Sociology, Philosophy, Education and French.
b) Master of Science: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, life Science & Bioinformatics, Bio-Technology, Ecology and Environmental science, Earth Sciences & Microbiology.
c) Master of Mass Communication.
d) Master of Commerce.
e) Master of Library and Information Science.

2. 10-Semester integrated courses:

a) Master of Computer Science.
b) Master of Social Work.
c) Bachelor of Arts: LLB honours (Law).

3. 8-Semester UG+ 4-Semester PG course:

Bachelor of Visual Arts + Master of Visual Arts.

4. 8-Semester Bachelor of Technology courses:
a) Information Technology 
b) Agricultural Engineering and 
c) Electronics & Telecommunication. The admission in B. Tech courses will be done through AIEEE Central Counseling only.

5. 8-Semester Bachelor of Pharmacy Course.

6. 4-Semester Master of Business Administration Course: 

The candidates seeking admission in MBA must have cleared MAT conducted by the AIMA.

7. 2-Semester Master of Education Course.

8. Diploma Courses: a) 2-Semester advance Diploma/Certificate Courses in French.

b) 2-Semester PG diploma in Information Technology.

9. Additional courses:

A) 2-Semester PG Diploma in 
(a) Bio-informatics
(b) Marketing Management 
(c) Tea Management
(d) Journalism 
(e) Biodiversity Conservation.

B) Certificate Courses in 
(a) Functional Sanskrit,
(b) Arabic Language.
C) Certificate/ Diploma course in Educational Planning and Management.

DIPHU CAMPUS

10. 4-Semester Post Graduate courses:

a) Master of Arts: Political science, History, English, Assamese.
b) Master of Science: Life Science & Bioinformatics, Physics, Anthropology.

c) Master of Commerce: Commerce.

11. Diploma Course: 2-Semester PG diploma in Entrepreneurship and innovation.

Candidates may collect Prospectus along with Application Form for the course(s) on payment of 500.00 (for General and OBC students) and 400.00 (for SC/ST students) from the designated counters of Axis Bank at Assam University, Dorgakona and office of Diphu Campus, AUS, on working days upto 3 pm. Additional charge of Rs. 30 will be paid by candidates who preferred to collect prospectus from the branches of Axis Bank at Silchar, Karimganj, Guwahati, Nagoan, Jorhat, Imphal, Dimapur, Aizwal, Shillong, Agartala, Dharmanagar, Siliguri, Kolkata, Burdwan, Delhi, Allabahad, Hyderabad and also from N.C. College, Badarpur, S.S. College, Hailakandi, Janata College, Kabuganj & M C D college, Sonai. 

The form may also be downloaded from University website http://www.aus.ac.in and submitted along with an application fee of 500.00 (for General and OBC students) and 400.00 (for SC/ST students) through D.D. / Banker Cheque in favour of Finance Officer, Assam University Silchar payable at Silchar. The candidates who have appeared in TDC Part III examination 2011 of Assam University or any other recognized university may also apply for admission to PG Courses.

The prospectus will be available for sale from 16th May to 10th June 2011 at the above mentioned places. Separate application should be submitted for each course.

The admission prospectus for B Tech courses will be available to those candidates who receive allotment letter from AIEEE Central Counseling in due course.

Candidates in person may submit their duly filled in application form in boxes placed at the Raja Rammohan Roy Administrative Building Assam University, Silchar and at the Administrative Office of Diphu Campus upto 10th June 2011.

Applicants may send their applications by post, addressed to Registrar, Assam University, Silchar 788011.

Application forms may also be submitted at drop boxes available at the office of the GC College, Silchar, Karimganj College, Karimganj, SS College, Hailakandi, Haflong Govt. College, Haflong.

The envelope should be superscribed as APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION to _______ course.

Candidates seeking admission in courses available at Diphu Campus should submit their Application at Diphu Campus office only.

Schedule of dates for various activities relating to admission 2011-2012 is given under:

* Last date of receipt of admission form : 10th June 2011.
* Date of publication of list of eligible candidates for written test : 30th June 2011.
* Issue of Admit Card to the candidates : 1st July 2011 to 11 AM of 3rd July 2011.
* Admission test date in different centers : 3rd July 2011.
* Publication of list of candidates qualified for interview : 7th July 2011.
* Personal Interview : 12th July 2011.
Display of list of provisionally selected candidates : 13th July 2011.
* Display of provisionally selected candidates from wait list : 16th July 2011.
* For MBA, B. Tech. and PG diploma dates of written test will be notified separately.

Admission test centers :

Silchar Campus: Assam University, Silchar, & Siliguri centre,

Diphu Campus: Assam University Diphu Campus. 
Admission test for B. Tech, MBA & Diploma Courses will be conducted at Silchar only. For details candidates may visit University website http://www.aus.ac.in.

Reservation of seats for SC/ST/OBC/PWD will be made as per GOI rules.
Integrated Pre-Ph.D. Courses: Prospectus along with admission froms for IPP courses will be available in the Assam University website in due course of time.
