Eligibility: Only those candidates have not crossed the age of 30 years in case of MD/MS and 40 years in case of PG diploma as on 31 December 2010 are eligible to apply. Date of birth as recorded in the 10th standard/school leaving certificate will be taken as authentic

MBBS degree from a recognized medical college

Those who will complete the internship before 30 April 2010 and are able to produce the full registration from the MCI or any State Medical Council within one month from the date of admission.

Not eligible: Candidates who failed more than three times in any examination or in more than three subjects during the under graduate course. (Not applicable for PG Diploma courses)

Candidates who have obtained their MBBS degree from medical colleges which are not recognized by Medical Council of India

Candidates of the above mentioned criteria will be debarred from entrance examination

Important Instructions for the Candidates:

2. In this Examination OMR Application System is applicable and the candidates may obtain OMR Appplication forms from the Head Post Offices of the District or from the Post Offices mentioned under SlNo 7(2) of this Advt The cost of the OMR Application form has been fixed as Rs 155/- for PREGEN Series (General OBC of UP and all candidates of other states) and Rs 95/- for PRERES Series (SC of UP and ST of UP). The candidates under horizontal reservations (PH of UP, Women of UP, DFF of UP and Ex-Army personnel candidates of UP) shall purchase application form according to their main category.

3. The candidates who want to appear in both General and Special Recruitment Examination must apply separately for them.

4. The candidates must keep a photocopy of their OMR application form with them. They must mention their OMR Form No in the correspondence with Commission in future.

1.The Public Service Commission, Uttar Pradesh shall hold an examination in future at Allahabad and Lucknow Centres for selecting suitable candidates for the Food Inspector in Food & Medical Administration Deptt. The Centre of Examination, decided by the Commission will be intimated to the candidates later by means of their admission certificates.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATION

A. A candidate must be a Medical Officer Incharge of Health Administration of local area. OR

B. Must be a graduate in Medicine and must have received at-least one month training in Food inspection and sampling work approved for the purpose by the Central Government or State Government. OR

C. Must be a graduate in Science with Chemistry as one of the subject or A graduate in Agriculture or Public Health or Pharmacy or Veterinary Science. or A graduate in Food Technology or Dairy Technology or A Diploma Holder in Food Technology, or Dairy Technology from a University or Institution established in India by Law recognised for these purpose by Central Government. or Equivalent qualification's recognised and notified by the Central Government for the purpose.

PREFERENTIAL QUALIFICATION


A candidate who has :- (1) Served in Territorial Army for a minimum period of two years. (2) Obtained 'B' certificate of National Cadet Corps shall other things being equal, be given preference.

Note: -


1. Horizontal Reservation - Sub Category under mentioned as DFF of UP, Ex Army personnel of UP, PH of UP and Women Candidates of UP shall be given reservation benefit according to latest Government orders.

2. The number of vacancies may increase or decrease in exceptional circumstances.

3. The candidates must possess the essential educational qualification and preferential qualification by the last date fixed for receipt of applications.

4. The candidates claiming the benefit of reservation must obtain in support of their category/sub-category a certificate issued by competent authority on the proforma available in this advertisement and shall submit the same to the Commission when asked for.

5. All reserved candidate of UP must mention their category in the O.M.R. application form.

6. The candidates claiming the reservation in more than one category will be entitled to only one concession whichever is more beneficial to them.

7. The Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Other Backward Class, Dependants of Freedom Fighter, PH, Women and Ex-Army personnel candidates, who are not the permanent resident of UP shall not be given the benefit of reservation. Such candidates shall be treated as the candidates of the General Category.

Conditions of Eligibility for Emergency Commissioned/Short Services Commission Officers:-
(1) In accordance with the provisions of the GO No 22/10/1976-Karmik-2-85, dated 30.1.1985 Emergency Commissioned Short Service Commission Officers who have not been released from Army but whose period of any Service has been extended for rehabilitation may also apply for the examination on the following conditions:-

(a) Such applicants will have to obtain a certificate of the competent authority of Army, Navy, Air Force to the effect that their period of service has been extended for rehabilitation and no disciplinary action is pending against them.

(b) Such applicants will have to submit, in due course, a written undertaking that in case they are selected for the post applied for, they will get themselves released immediately from the Army service. The above facilities will not be admissible to Emergency/Short Service Commissioned Officer if :- (I) He gets permanent Commission in the Army. (ii) He has been released from the Army on tendering resignation. (iii) He has been released from the Army on grounds of misconduct or physical disability.

Marital Status: - A male candidate who has more than one wife living or a female candidates who are married a man already having a wife living shall not be illegible for appointment to post in the service provided that the government may if satisfied that there exist special grounds for doing so, exempt any person from the operation of this Rule.

Age Limit :- (I) Candidates must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have crossed the age of 35 years on July 1st 2010 i.e. must have been born earlier than 2nd July, 1975 and not later than July 1st, 1989.

(ii) Relaxation in Upper Age Limit: - (a) Upper age limit shall be greater by 5 years for candidate belonging to Scheduled Caste of UP Scheduled Tribe of UP Other Backward Class of UP, Dependants of Freedom Fighters of UP and 15 years for PH of UP in case of identification (only domiciled persons in UP are entitled for such age relaxation).

(b) The age relaxation shall be given by three years more than service rendered in Army for disabled Army personnel/Emergency Commissioned Officers/Short Service Commissioned Officers/Ex-Army personnel. Such relaxation will not be admissible to those Army men/Officers who have not bern released from the Army upto the last date for receipt of applications.

(c) Upper age limit shall be greater by five years also for the skilled players of classified games of National and International level in accordance with GO No. 22/21/1983-Karmik-2, dated 28.11.1985 those who are the domiciled of U.P. The skilled players must obtain certificates from the prescribed authority and must enclose the self attested copy of the certificate with their application forms.

Fee: - The fee shall be taken from every candidate with the cost of OMR application form. The details are provide on the OMR envelops. No fee has to be paid by the candidates through the Bank Draft/ Treasury Challan.

Uttar Pradesh Technical University, Lucknow is conducting State Entrance Examination (SEE-UPTU: 2010) on 17th and 18th April, 2010 for admission to degree courses in Engineering (BTech)/ Pharmacy (BPharm) / Architecture (BArch) / Hotel Management (BHMCT) / Fashion and Apparel Design Technology (BFAD) and Post Graduate Courses MCA / MBA of Govt Aided and private unaided institutions affiliated to UP Technical University along with some of the other Universities of Uttar Pradesh for the academic session 2010-11.

Eligibility:     


Eligibility to Appear in SEE-UPTU: 2010:

1.      For admission to first year of BTech / BPharm / BHMCT / BFAD candidate must have passed intermediate examination of UP Board or 10+2 level examination or its equivalent from any recognized Board /University as given in Information brochure of SEE-UPTU:2010. The candidate is essentially required to pass in each subject of the qualifying subject group.

2.      For admission to first year of B. Arch., a candidate must have passed intermediate examination of U. P. Board or 10+2 level examination or its equivalent from any recognized Board / University; securing minimum 50% marks in aggregate in compulsory and optional subject as given in Information Brochure of SEE-UPTU 2010. The candidate is essentially required to pass in each subject of the qualifying subject group. A candidate possessing three year Diploma in Architecture (10+3) recognized by Central/State Govt., is also eligible for admission to first year of B.Arch. only, provided the candidate has passed the Diploma examination securing minimum 50% marks in aggregate. Such candidates will have to appear in the entrance examination for first year of B. Arch, papers (paper 2 & 6) as mentioned above.

3.      For admission to first year of MBA, candidate must have passed three years degree course from any recognized university.

4.      For admission to first year of MCA, candidate must have passed three year degree course from any recognized university with Mathematics at 10+2 level or at bachelor Degree level.

5.      For admission to second year (lateral entry) of BTech, the candidate must have passed three years Diploma in Engineering course: securing minimum 60% marks in aggregate or three years B.Sc. degree with Mathematics as one subject; securing minimum 60% marks in aggregate as per details provided in the brochure.

6.      For admission to second year (lateral entry) of BPharm. the candidate must have passed Diploma in Pharmacy course; securing minimum 60% marks in aggregate.

7.      The candidates appearing in the qualifying examination are also eligible to appear in State Entrance Examination-2010 subject to the condition that they must fulfill the eligibility criteria at the time of counseling.

8.      The details of admissions for NRI and Kashmiri migrants will be published later, in the month of May, 2010 according to the norms to be laid down by the Govt, of U.P. /AICTE. Such candidates need not appearinSEE-UPTU:2010

9.      State Govt, has permitted 10% of total sanctioned seats available in Private Institutions to be filled on merit by All India Level Candidates subject to the eligibility conditions given in the brochure through University counseling under the policy of State Govt, of U. P.

10.  This admission test is open to the candidates who have passed the qualifying examination from any institution located in UP or whose parents (Father or Mother) are domiciles of UP AND 10% seats of All India level candidates as provided in SI, No 9 above.

and OMR application form can also be obtained by post from Registrar, UP, Technical University, IET
Campus, Sitapur Road, Lucknow 226021 by sending a MICR bank draft of Rs 1050.00 for
General/OBC and Rs 550.00 for SC/ST and female candidates of all categories in favour of Finance
Officer, UP Technical University, Lucknow along with two self addressed stickers. The request for
supply of application form by post will not be entertained after 05.03.2010. The last date of receipt of
duly filled OMR Application form in the office of Registrar (SEE), U.P. Technical University, IET
Campus Sitapur Road, Lucknow-226021 will be 15.03.2010. The applications will be received in the
University office by Registered / Speed Post only. The application form received after the due date shall
not be accepted. The University will not be responsible, for the form missed/ not received / any delay on

Applications are invited in the prescribed form for admission to MBBS Course commencing on 1st August, 2010. Entrance Examination will be held on 01.06.2010 (Tuseday). Application forms, complete in all respects, must reach AIIMS, New Delhi latest by 5.00 PM on 25.03.2010.

1. The Director of Technical Education, Maharashtra State, Mumbai continues the system of online receipt of application form for MCA for the year 2010-11.

Information brochure along with the Application Kit for the aspiring candidates will be available at the select post offices mentioned below only during working hours of the respective post offices from 08/02/2010 to 19/02/2010 (excluding Public Holidays) against the payment of the application form processing fees.

It is mandatory to procure the information brochure and go through it carefully. The CET that will be conducted in pursuance of this advertisement is subject to the rules and regulations set out in this information brochure. The further admission process, especially in respect of Private Unaided Institutes will be in terms of the clarification read with aforesaid rules and regulations.

Submission of the application form in response to this notification will amount to accepting the afore said rules & regulations unequivocally by the applicant and upon such submission it will be presumed that the applicant agrees and accepts these rules & regulations as legal, valid and correct. It will not be open for any applicant, once having submitted the application form to question the legality, validity and correctness of these rules & regulations.

The Centralized Admission Process will consist of first 2 rounds of allotment and the third (ie last) round of counseling. Candidates are instructed to carefully read the Annexure-I of the Information Brochure to understand the eligibility criteria for participating in each round.

For the submission and confirmation of the online Application Form the candidates are required to use the Application ID and Password provided in the Application Kit. Candidates are also required to upload his/her photo with signature as per the instructions given in the Application Kit. Candidates are advised to preserve the Application Kit carefully and not to disclose the Application ID & Password to others to avoid impersonation.

In order to take the printout of the Online submitted Application form and the printout of the Hall Ticket for the CET, it is mandatory for all the candidates to confirm the Online submitted Application form and such confirmed applications only will be considered valid for further processing.

Eligibility
Minimum Essential Educational Qualification FOR JBT CET:
The minimum essential educational qualifications for CET is Senior Secondary School Certificate or Intermediate or 10+2 or its equivalent examination with at least 50% marks for non-graduates and 45% marks for graduates. However, for the purpose of computing percentage of marks, the candidates with at least 49.5% and 44.5% in 10+2 or its equivalent examination for non graduates and graduates respectively shall be eligible to apply and appear for the JBT CET 2009-2011. The candidates who would be appearing in the qualifying examination but whose results would be declared later on can also apply but their eligibility for the saidEntrance Test will be purely provisional subject to the condition that they-have to produce passing certificate scoring the percentage at least prescribed thereto in the qualifying examination on the day of counselling.

Age Limit
The age limit shall be 17-28 years as on 31.12.2009 for all candidates.
Relaxation in upper age limit shall be available as per the rules of the Government of Himachal Pradesh.
The following conditions will also be applicable to the candidates of Two Years Course/ Session 2009-2011:
1. 90% attendance would be necessary in the JBT training course.
2. 45% will be the pass marks in JBT Examinations of the 1st Year and 2nd Year.
3. Merit and seniority will be on the basis of the marks secured in the JBT pass course.
4. In case the trainees take leave on medical grounds/ maternity purpose then the training may be extended by the duration of leave taken.
5. During the training the candidates would not pursue any other
Educational course/study either regular or through distance mode.
6. Since contractual appointment will be considered alter passing of JBT course and subject to permission to fill up vacancies, hence, no bond will be executed to serve in the Education Department.
7. After successful completion of JBT Course as above conditions, the candidates are eligible for employment against vacant posts of JBT teacher in Elementary Education Department. Actual appointment will be based on vacancies and necessary approvals to fill the posts. As per present policy fresh appointments are being made on contract.

Information regarding rejection:


1. After considering the entries of online application form as explained in rule 2.2 the compulsory entries marked with * shall be subjected to online rectification process. In case the compulsory entries marked with an aestrix (*) are either left blank or are multiple marked than candidates may be given a further chance to rectify such erroneous/wrong entries through an online rectification process. It may be noted that if the photograph of the candidate is not furnished with the application form then the application form will be rejected, and no rectification will be permitted.

2. The information of rejected application forms along with the reason for rejection will be made available on the website of the board www.vyapam.nic.in

Admission Test for ICFAI University Technology (ATIT)


ATIT is an All India admission test conducted by the federation of universities (FedUni), for students seeking admission into the BTech Program

The faculties of Science and Technology at ICFAI University, Dehradun (IUD), ICFAI University, Jharkhand (IUJ) and ICFAI university, Tripura (IUT) offer admission to the eligible candidates based on the scores achieved in ATIT 2010. BTech degrees will be awarded by respective universities to the successful students of the faculty of science and technology within their jurisdictions

Eligibility:    

Eligibility for ATIT 2010: Students securing at least 50% aggregate in class 10+2 examination or its equivalent with pass in each of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English subjects are eligible to appear for ATIT. Final year students of class 10+2 or its equivalent awaiting examination and results may also appear

Eligibility for admission into the BTech program: The eligibility criteria for admission into the BTech program for all three universities are minimum 50% aggregate in class 10+2 examination or its equivalent with pass in each of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English subjects. Admission will be offered based on scores secured in ATIT 2010/AIEEE 2010

The applicant should fulfill the minimum age requirements as prescribed by the respective board through which the applicant has appeared for the qualifying examination.

If an applicant is found ineligible for whatever reasons even after admission into the program, his/her admission will be cancelled. All admissions will be subject to verification of facts from the original certificates/documents of the students. The decision of the admissions committee regarding eligibility of any applicant shall be final.

Admission procedure for candidates appearing in ATIT 2010

Each university will offer provisional admission based on the marks secured by the student in the ATIT 2010, subject to the student satisfying the eligibility criteria of admission. All applicants who are offered provisional admission will be required to produce the proof of having passed the qualifying examination (10+2 or equivalent) on or before September 01, 2010, failing which such provisional admission will stand cancelled.

Admission procedure for candidates applying based on AIEEE 2010

Students may also be admitted into the BTech program based on their All India Rank in AIEEE 2010 which is being conducted by the CBSE

Candidates applying for admission on the basis of AIEEE 2010 are not necessarily required to write ATIT 2010. They will be offered admission into the BTech program based on their AIEEE rank secured.

Candidates may also appear in both ATIT 2010 and AIEEE 2010, in order to enhance the chances of getting admission.

All candidates seeking admission based on AIEEE scores should indicate their AIEEE application number in the OMR application form. They also have to submit the attested photocopy of the scorecard on or before June 03, 2010. The selection of the candidates will be withheld incase of non-receipt of the AIEEE scorecard before the due date.

Choice of university/branch of engineering: All candidates seeking admission into the B.Tech program have to indicate six university/branch preferences mandatorily in the OMR application form.

Last date for application: The last date for receipt of completed OMR application form is May 17, 2010. All applicants are advised to adhere to the last date prescribed for submission of the application form. Submit the application form as early as possible to improve the changes of getting the test center of your choice.

Online admit card: All applicants who have applied for ATIT 2010 are eligible to download online admit cards from website, using the application number and date of birth as their user name and password respectively from May 03, 2010 onwards. The online admit card will carry the photo, name, address, roll number of the applicant, test date, timings, and details of the test center. Nohard copies of admit cards will be sent. The admit card is not transferable. Impersonation is a punishable offence under law.

ATIT results


The results of the ATIT 2010 will be hosted online on website on June 23, 2010. Successful applicants will be intimated individually through mail/post.

Students interested in appearing for ATIT 2010 can apply by any one of the following methods.

Test centre: You can choose any one test center available for ATIT. Enter the test center code number in the box and darken the corresponding circles. In the event of not having enough seats at the test center requested by you, you will be allotted the nearest alternative test center.

Allotment of university/branch: The allotment of university and branch of engineering is based on the candidate’s performance in ATIT 2010/AIEEE 2010 and the preferences indicated in the OMR application form.

Applicants will be intimated about the university and branch allotted to them through selection letters dispatched from June 26, 2010 onwards. The minimum number of 30 students are required for a particular branch to be offered at each campus.

Submission of attested photocopies of certificates: All successful applicants will have to submit attested photocopies of relevant certificates (class X and class XII mark sheets, birth certificate and completion certificate of the qualifying examination from the respective board) on July 29, 2010 at the respective campuses along with the original certificates. The original certificates will be returned to applicants within a week’s time after verification.

For final year (10+2) students: Final-year students of (10+2) who have not received the original certificates from the board by July 29, 2010 will have to submit these along with a set of photocopies on or before September 01, 2010. Their admissions will be confirmed only on receipt of the original certificates, and will be subject to their obtaining minimum stipulated percentage for admission into the BTech program.

Reporting date for first semester: All selected students have to report to the respective campus on July 29, 2010 (Thursday) for completing the admission formalities. The classes for the first semester of the BTech. Program at each campus will commence on August 02, 2010 (Monday).

Admission fee: All successful applicants who have been offered admission into the B.Tech. program are required to pay the admission fee on or before July 16, 2010. The admission fee is non-refundable.

Merit Scholarship: To encourage meritorious students, merit scholarships are offered upto 50% of first installment of tuition fee payable, to the candidates who emerge as the top 50 rank holders in the ATIT 2010.

For subsequent semesters, merit scholarships will be continued semester after semester subject to the students maintaining minimum stipulated academic standards, like minimum CGPA of 8.00, attendance, etc., and staying among top 20% of the batch in academics.

Eligibility: Minimum 60% marks or equivalent grade in any one: BTech / BE in Chemical Engineering/Biochemical Engineering, Industrial Biotechnology, Leather Technology, Chemistry/Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, BPharma, Chemical Technology, OR MSc in Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Botany, Zoology, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Genetics, Biophysics, Microbial Genetics and Bioinformatics. (For Anna University: Candidates with BTech / BE in Electrochemistry, Bioengineering and MSc in Chemistry and Physics are also eligible. For West Bengal University of Technology: Candidates with MSc in Bioengineering are also eligible. For Cochin University of Science and Technology: Candidates with MSc in Marine Biotechnology, Marine Biology/Aquatic Biology & Fisheries, Environmental Biotechnology are also eligible).

Only those candidates who have passed the qualifying examinations in 2008 or thereafter including those who are appearing in 2010 are eligible to apply. In other words, those who have passed the qualifying examination PRIOR to 2008, are not eligible to apply.

Reservation/Concession:

a) Reservation: 15%, 7½% and 3% of seats shall be reserved for SC, ST and Physically Challenged (Handicapped) (PH) candidates respectively. All the SC/ST and PH candidates who have passed the qualifying examination are eligible to apply irrespective of their percentage of marks in the qualifying degree examination. OBC reservation, wherever applicable, will be implemented as per the policy of each participating University.

b) Concession for Kashmiri Migrants: 10% marks will be added to the overall marks scored by a Kashmiri Migrant candidate in the entrance examination. After adding 10% marks, in case he/she is covered in the cut-off point in the merit list, he/she will be offered admission strictly in accordance with his/her inter-se merit along with other candidates subject to his/her meeting the minimum prescribed eligibility requirements and also subject to his/her producing valid registration documents issued by the notified authorities certifying the candidate’s Kashmiri Migrant status.

Tuition Fee/ Scholarship:

Fee shall be charged from the admitted candidates as per the fee structure of the concerned University. Candidates selected for admission are generally eligible for scholarship at the rates prescribed by the Dept. of Biotechnology.

Schools and Their Programmes of Study

1. School of International Studies

(I) Direct Admission to PhD Programme:-

Only those candidates shall be considered for direct admission to the PhD Programme who have—

(a) Obtained MPhil degree of a recognized University/Research Institution with minimum Final Grade Point Average (FGPA) of 6.00 in 10 point scale/comparable standard where the grading is based on system other than 10 point scale. The candidates, who have obtained MPhil degree from a University/Institution where dissertation is not graded or grading is not on 10-point scale, are required to forward a copy of their MPhil dissertation along with the Application Form for the purpose of assessment of their credentials;

(b) At least 2 years research experience in reputed institutions with research publication(s) comparable to MPhil standard. In addition, they should have obtained Master's Degree with FGPA of 6.00 in the 10 point scale/comparable standard or equivalent percentage.

(ii) MPhil / PhD

(a) For Centre for International Politics, Organization and Disarmament:

Master's degree in Political Science, History, Economics, Geography, Sociology, Defence/Strategic Studies, International Relations and Area Studies with at least 50% marks or Master's degree in Humanities and other Social Sciences with at least 60% marks or Master's degree in Natural Sciences with at least 65% marks. 

(b) For Centre for International Legal Studies: LLB (Three Year) degree after Bachelor's degree with at least 55% marks or an LLB (Five year) degree with at least 55% marks in the aggregate or an MA with International Law as one of the subjects with at least 55% marks in the aggregate or an LLM degree with at least 50% marks in the aggregate.

(c) For Centre for International Trade & Development: Master's degree in Economics with at least 50% marks and familiarity with Mathematics and Statistics upto Bachelor's level.

(d) For Centre for South, Central, South East Asian and South West Pacific Studies: Master's degree in Political Science, History, Economics, Geography, Sociology, Defence Studies, International Relations and Area Studies with at least 50% marks or Master's degree in Humanities and other Social Sciences with at least 60% marks or Master's degree in Natural Sciences with at least 65% marks.

(e) Centre for Canadian, US and Latin American Studies: Master's degree in Political Science, History, Economics, Sociology, Defence/Strategic Studies, International Relations with at least 50% marks or Master's degree in Natural Sciences with at least 60% marks.

(iii) MA

(a) MA in Politics (with specialization in International Relations)

Bachelor's degree in any discipline under 10+2+3 pattern of education with at least 50% marks.

(b) MA in Economics (with specialization in World Economy)

Bachelor's degree in Economics (with either Mathematics or Statistics as a subject) /Mathematics /Statistics/ Physics/ Engineering under 10+2+3 (or equivalent) pattern of education with at least 50% marks in aggregate.

2. School of Language, Literature and Culture Studies

(a) Direct Admission to PhD Programme

Master's degree in the concerned language/subject with at least 50% marks.

(ii) MPhil / PhD in English

Master's Degree in English or Linguistics or Sociology or History or Political Science or Philosophy or Folklore or Film and Communication Studies or Culture Studies or Comparative Literature with at least 50% marks.

(iii) MPhil / PhD in Linguistics

Master's Degree in Linguistics or Psychology or Sociology or Folklore or Culture Studies or any Language or M.Sc. in Speech & Hearing or Computer Science Engineering or MCA with at least 50% marks.

(iv) MPhil / PhD in Hindi Translation

Master's degree in Hindi with 50% marks and English or any Indian language as one of the subject at BA level other than Hindi or Master's degree in any Indian/ Foreign language with 50% marks and Hindi as one of the subject at BA level.

(v) MPhil in Portuguese

Master's degree in Portuguese with at least 50% marks or Master's degree in any other Romance Language (Italian, Spanish, French, Romanian) or in English with atleast 50% marks and an Advanced Diploma in Portuguese with atleast 50% marks.

(c) MA

Bachelor's degree in any discipline under 10+2+3 pattern of education with at least 45% marks with adequate proficiency in the concerned language.

Candidates who have already pursued BA (Hons) / MA language programme in two or more Centres of study of the School of Language, Literature and Culture Studies are not eligible to join MA Language programme.

(d) BA (Hons) 1st Year

(i) Senior School Certificate (10+2) or equivalent examination with minimum of 45% marks. The candidates who are due to appear in Senior School Certificate (10+2) or equivalent examination are eligible to apply.

NOTE:

1. Eighty percent of the seats in the First Year of 3-year BA (Hons) programme in the School are earmarked for those who have either passed the Senior School Certificate or equivalent examination in the year 2008 or are due to appear in 2009, and the remaining 20% are open to all other candidates.

2. Candidates who have obtained their Higher Secondary Certificate under the 10+1 pattern of education will be eligible for admission to the First-Year of the three-year BA programme if they have successfully completed the First-Year of Bachelor's degree examination of a University under 10+1+3 pattern of education with the prescribed percentage of marks.

(E) BA (Hons) 2nd Year

(I) First year of Bachelor's degree or an examination recognised as equivalent thereto with at least 45% marks under 10+2+3 pattern of education with adequate proficiency in the concerned language (Entrance Examination shall be conducted in the language to which admission is sought and selection will be made on the basis of the performance of the candidate in written and viva-voce).

(II) Candidates who have already pursued BA / MA, Language programme in any two Centres of the School during their entire academic career are not eligible for admission.

Minimum Age: 18 years as on 1st October 2009.

(F) Part-Time Programmes

1. Certificate of proficiency: Atleast Senior School Certificate (10+2) or an examination recognised as equivalent thereto with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate.

2. Diploma of Proficiency: Atleast Senior School Certificate (10+2) or an examination recognised as equivalent thereto with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate and Certificate of proficiency in the language concerned or an examination recognised as equivalent thereto.

3. Advanced Diploma of Proficiency: Atleast Senior School Certificate (10+2) or an examination recognised as equivalent thereto with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate and Diploma of Proficiency in the language concerned or an examination recognised as equivalent thereto.

4. Advanced Diploma in Mass Media in Urdu: A Bachelor's Degree under 10 + 2 + 3 pattern of education with a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate with Urdu as one of the subjects at High School or Intermediate or B.A. Level.

The candidates who have obtained their qualification under the pattern of education other than 10+2 will be eligible for admission to the COP and DOP programmes of study if they have successfully completed the first year of Bachelor's degree examination of a University with atleast a minimum of 45% marks. Similarly, the candidates who have obtained their Bachelor's degree under the pattern of education other than 10+2+3 will be considered for admission to Advanced Diploma in Mass Media in Urdu if they have successfully completed the first year of Master's degree programme or a bridge course in lieu thereof, wherever prescribed, from a recognised University with atleast a minimum of 45% marks.

3. School of Life Sciences

(I) MPhil / PhD: MSc or equivalent degree, with at least 55% marks or equivalent grades, in Biological Sciences, Bioinformatics or Physical Sciences, as well as to those with MBBS or MTech or MSc (Agriculture) or MSc (Veterinary Sciences) degree with 55%marks. Candidates having the MSc or equivalent degree in allied subjects of Life Sciences, including Biochemistry, Biophysics, Biotechnology, Botany, Genetics, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Physiology, Zoology, or in Chemistry or Physics are also eligible.

B.at least 2 years research experience in reputed institutions with research publication(s) comparable to MPhil / MD / MPH (with MBBS/MSc Nursing/Master degree in Social Sciences or other disciplines allied to public health) standard. In addition, they should have obtained Master’s Degree with FGPA of 6.00 in the 10 point scale/comparable standard or equivalent percentage.

For Direct admission to PhD programme in PSDE, Research/Publications in the areas of Discrimination and Excdlusion with special reference to Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribes and Minorities are desirable.

(II) MPhil / PhD

Master's degree in the subject concerned with at least 50% marks; or Master's degree in allied subjects or Humanities with at least 55% marks; or Master's degree in Natural Sciences with at least 60% marks. (III) MCA: Bachelor's degree in any discipline with adequate competence in Mathematics under 10+2+3 pattern of education with at least 55% marks.

7. School of Physical Sciences

(I) Direct admission to PhD programme

Candidates shall be considered for direct admission to the PhD programme on the following basis:


a.MPhil degree from a recognized University/Research Institutions with minimum Final Grade Point Average (FGPA) of 6.00 in a 10-point scale/comparable standard where the grading is based on systems other than a 10-point scale. b.At least 2 years’ research experience in a reputed institution with research publication(s) comparable to the MPhil standard. In addition, they should have obtained a MSc degree with FGPA of 6.00 in a 10-point scale/comparable standard or equivalent percentage.

(II) Pre-PhD / PhD programme

Category I (through entrance examination):

a.For Physical Sciences, M.Sc. degree in Physics, Chemistry or Mathematics, with at least 55% marks. Candidates having majored in Physics or Chemistry should have had Mathematics at least up to the B.Sc. level. Exceptions can be made in case of applicants with B.Tech. (Electronics/Electrical) degrees provided they successfully qualify the entrance examination.

b.For Chemical Sciences, MSc degree in Chemistry or Physics, with at least 55% marks. Candidates majoring in Chemistry should have specialization in Organic/Inorganic/Physical Chemistry/Chemical Physics at the Master’s level.

c. For Mathematical Sciences, M.Sc. degree in Mathematics, with at least 55% marks.

Category II (NET qualified candidates): Candidates who have qualified for Junior Research Fellowship through CSIR/UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) or NBHM PhD scholarship test are eligible to apply separately in the prescribed form under this category. Candidates shall have to appear for an interview and their selection will depend on their performance in the interview. Candidates who have appeared in the CSIR/UGC NET/NBHM examination but whose results are awaited may also apply under this category. c. Candidates with Advanced Diploma (Post Graduate) in Bioinformatics are also eligible if they secure minimum Final Grade Point Average (FGPA) of 6.00 in 10 point scale/ comparable standard or equivalent percentage.

(II) Pre-PhD / PhD programme

Pre-PhD/PhD in Computational Biology and Bioinformatics

Category I (through entrance examination):

a.Master's Degree in any branch of Sciences such as Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics, Computer Science/MCA.

(III) MTech in Computational and Systems Biology

Category _ I (through entrance examination):

Candidates should appear in the written entrance test conducted by the University. Based on the performance in written test, short listed candidates have to appear for an interview. Admission is offered to candidates based on their performance in written test and interview. Candidates appearing in the entrance exam should fulfill any one of the three academic requirements listed below.

a.Master's Degree in any branch of Sciences including Biological, Chemical, Mathematical, Physical, Statistics, Computer Sciences/MCA.

b.MBBS or BHMS or equivalent degree as recognized by Government Council such as MCI.

(III) MA in Arts and Aesthetics

Bachelor's degree under 10+2+3 pattern of education with at least 50% marks.

10. School of Biotechnology

(I) Direct Admission to PhD Programme

Only those candidates shall be considered for direct admission to the PhD Programme who have —

Master's degree in Sanskrit or in an allied subject (with Sanskrit up to BA level) with at least 55% marks.

(III) MA in Sanskrit

Bachelor's Degree in Sanskrit or in any other subject under 10+2+3 pattern of education with at least 45% marks.

12. Centre for Molecular Medicine

(I) Direct Admission to PhD Programme: Only those candidates shall be considered for Direct Admission to the PhD programme, who have —

a.Obtained MBBS/BVSc degree of recognised University/Institution with minimum Final Grade Point Average (FGPA) of 6.00 in 10 point scale/comparable standard where the grading is based on system other than the 10 point scale with one year experience or MD or MVSc. OR

b.Obtained MPhil degree of recognised University/Institution with minimum Final Grade Point Average (FGPA) of 6.00 in 10 point scale/ comparable standard where the grading is based on system other than the 10 point scale. The candidates who have obtained MPhil degree from a University/Institution where the MPhil dissertation is not graded or grading is not based on 10 point scale, are required to forward a copy of their MPhil dissertation along with the Application Form for the purpose of assessment of their credentials; OR

c. At least 2 years research experience in reputed institutions with research publication(s) in peer reviewed journals comparable to MPhil standard. In addition, they should have obtained Master's Degree with FGPA of 6.00 in the 10 point scale/comparable standard or equivalent percentage.

(II) Pre-PhD / PhD Programme: Master’s degree or equivalent of recognized University/Institution in any branch of biological sciences/MBBS/ BVSc / BPharm or equivalent with at least 55% marks.

13. Centre for the Study of Law and Governance

(I) Direct Admission to PhD Programme

Only those candidates shall be considered for direct admission to the PhD Programme who have —

a.Obtained MPhil degree of a recognized University/Research Institution with minimum Final Grade Point Average (FGPA) of 6.00 in 10 point scale/comparable standard where the grading is based on system other than 10 point scale. The candidates who have obtained MPhil degree from a University/Institution where dissertation is not graded or grading is not on 10-point scale, are required to forward a copy of their MPhil dissertation along with the Application Form for the purpose of assessment of their credentials; OR

b.At least 2 years research/administrative/legal experience in reputed institutions with research publication(s) comparable to MPhil standard. In addition, they should have obtained Master’s Degree with FGPA of 6.00 in the 10 point scale/comparable standard or equivalent percentage..

(II) Mphil / PhD

Master’s degree in Political Science, Public Administration, Economics, Sociology, History, Philosophy or Law with 55% marks; or 60% in any branch of natural science.

Eligibility in Law may be read as: LLB (Three Year) degree after Bachelor's degree with at least 55% marks or an LL.B. (Five Year) degree with at least 55% marks in the aggregate or an LL.M degree with at least 50%marks in the aggregate.

RESERVATION OF SEATS FOR SC/ST CANDIDATES

22.5% (15% for SC and 7.5% for ST) seats in each Programme of Study are reserved for Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates respectively. All Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe candidates who have passed the qualifying examination are eligible to appear in the entrance examination irrespective of their percentage of marks. 27% seats are reserved for OBC candidates (non creamy layer).

RESERVATION OF SEATS FOR PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED (HANDICAPPED) CANDIDATES

3% of the seats are reserved for the Physically Challenged (Handicapped) candidates in all the programmes of study within each category i.e. General, SC, ST and OBC. The Physically Challenged (Handicapped) candidates, who have passed the qualifying examination are eligible to appear in the entrance examination irrespective of their percentage of marks.

Such candidates would be considered for admission only to those fields of study/disciplines where their physical disability is not considered as a hindrance in pursuing the course of study.

A candidate, in order to be eligible for any concession/benefits under the Physically Challenged (Handicapped) category, should have minimum degree of disability to the extent of 40%. Further that the certifying authority in all such cases will be a medical board at the district level consisting of the Chief Medical Officer/Sub-Divisional Medical Officer in the District and another expert in the specified field viz. Ophthalmic Surgeon in the case of visually challenged (handicapped) and ENT Surgeon or an Audiologist in case of speech and hearing challenged (handicapped), an Orthopaedic Surgeon or a Specialist in Physical Medicine and re-habilitation in case of locomotor challenged (handicapped). The person having physically challenged certificate for hearing & speech will be referred for verification to government hospitals of New Delhi or AIIMS. The Degree of the disability of the candidates applying under this category will also be verified by the Medical Board of the University.

Guidelines for providing writer to the blind candidates

1. Writers will be provided to the blind candidates taking Entrance Examination as per guidelines indicated below:

Ø A student of not higher than11th class for a blind candidate taking Entrance Examination to the first year of 3-year BA, (Hons) programme.

Ø A student of not higher than BA first year or equivalent for blind candidate taking Entrance Examination for Master's Degree programme.

Ø A student of not higher than MA (Previous) or equivalent for a blind candidate taking Entrance Examination to the MPhil/ PhD programme.

2. Blind candidates who have been provided with a Writer may be given an additional time of 90 minutes.

ADMIT CARD FOR ENTRANCE EXAMINATION

Admit Card will be issued by the University only to those candidates, who have submitted the Application form complete in all respects on or before the last date for submission of Application Form ie 15th March, 2010. The University will not be responsible for any postal delay or irregularity or loss in postal transit resulting in non- receipt of either the filled in Application Form by the University or the Admit Card by the candidates. The candidates may download their Admit Card from the University's www.jnu.ac.in after 10th May, 2010 and take that Admit Card to the Examination Centre with a copy of latest passport size Photograph.

Permission to appear in the entrance examination is subject to the candidate's fulfilling minimum eligibility requirements prescribed for admission to the concerned programme of study and as notified in the Prospectus. The candidate may therefore appear in the entrance examination only if he/she fulfils the eligibility requirements for the programme for which the admission is sought. Despite this caution, in case any candidate who does not meet the minimum eligibility criteria prescribed for the concerned programme and appears in the entrance examination shall do so at his/her own risk and cost, and if at any stage, it is found that the candidate does not fulfill the minimum eligibility requirements, the admission, if granted, shall be cancelled ipso facto.

The University representative(s) shall be available at the Examination Centre before the commencement of the examination and a candidate facing problem due to non-receipt of Admit Card or on some other account is advised to get in touch with the University Representative or the Presiding Officer of the Centre in order to avoid any last minute inconvenience. Only those candidates will be allowed to appear for Entrance examination whose names appear in the Roll List available with the JNU Representative(s). University assumes no responsibility whatsoever in the event of failure to report on the due date and time by the candidate for appearing in the Entrance Examination.

How To Apply:

2.For MPhil / PhD, Pre-PhD/PhD, MTech / PhD, MPH / PhD, MA, MSc and MCA: The Entrance Examination fee for candidates belonging to general category including OBC is Rs. 220/- for 1 field of study, Rs. 430/- for 2 fields of study and Rs. 600/- for 3 fields of study. Similarly candidates belonging to SC/ST and Physically Challenged (Handicapped) categories are required to pay examination fee at the rate of Rs. 110/- for 1 field of study, Rs. 215/- for 2 fields of study and Rs. 300/- for 3 fields of study.

3.For B.A.(Hons.) and Part Time Programmes: The Entrance Examination fee for B.A.(Hons.) 1st year and 2nd year and Certificate of Proficiency (COP) programmes for candidates belonging to general category including OBC is Rs.130/- for 1 field of study, Rs. 250/- for 2 fields of study and 360/- for 3 fields of study. Similarly candidates belonging to SC/ST and Physically Challenged (Handicapped) categories are required to pay examination fee at the rate of Rs. 65/- for 1 field of study, Rs. 125/- for 2 fields of study and Rs. 180/- for 3 fields of study. For all other Part-Time programmes i.e. ADOP, ADOP(Mass Media) and DOP, candidates are required to pay processing fee/entrance examination fee at the above rates.

4.Fee for Foreign Students: Foreign students appearing in the entrance examination are required to enclose with their application form a Bank Draft amounting to US$ 25 or Rs.1250/- if they are applying for one field of study, US$ 50 or Rs.2500/- if they are applying for two fields of study and US$ 75 or Rs.3750/- if they are applying for three fields of study.

You are required to enclose Crossed Bank Draft (valid for six months) for the prescribed examination fee. The bank draft should be drawn in favour of JAWAHARLAL NEHRU UNIVERSITY payable at New Delhi.

If you are applying for more than one field of study of the same level of programme, you are required to pay the examination fees for each field of study as per rates indicated above, failing which your candidature will not be considered for additional field(s) of study.
