Duration of the course: (a) 3 yrs from the date of commencement of classes. (b) Two years (or period as fixed by the MCI) in case of those who have Post Graduate Diploma (recognized) in the same subject.
PG Diploma
Duration of the course: 2 yrs from the date of commencement of classes
Eligibility: Only those candidates have not crossed the age of 30 years in case of MD/MS and 40 years in case of PG diploma as on 31 December 2010 are eligible to apply. Date of birth as recorded in the 10th standard/school leaving certificate will be taken as authentic
MBBS degree from a recognized medical college
Those who will complete the internship before 30 April 2010 and are able to produce the full registration from the MCI or any State Medical Council within one month from the date of admission.
Not eligible: Candidates who failed more than three times in any examination or in more than three subjects during the under graduate course. (Not applicable for PG Diploma courses)
Candidates who have obtained their MBBS degree from medical colleges which are not recognized by Medical Council of India
Candidates of the above mentioned criteria will be debarred from entrance examination
Admission procedure: Selection is based on the rank obtained in the All India entrance test conducted by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham

MD/MS/PG Diploma: March 28, 2010, 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.
Exam centre: Amrita school of medicine, Kochi
Course fees
MD/MS: Tuition fee per annum -Rs. 4,50,000/-; other fees (one time) -Rs.7,000/-;other fees (recurring) -Rs.46,600/-; caution deposit -Rs.10,000/-
PG Diploma: Tuition fee per annum -Rs. 3,50,000/-; other fees (one time) -Rs.7,000/-; other fees (recurring) - Rs.46,600/-; caution deposit -Rs.10,000/-
Prospectus and application forms will be available from the selected branches of Dhanalakshmi bank and south Indian bank of payment of Rs 1250/- (list of branches available in website); or write to the admission co-ordinator, office of admissions, Amrita Institute of medical sciences, AIMS-Ponekkara, P.O.
