Eligibility: MBA & ALLIED COURSES:

A candidate seeking admission to MBA and Allied Courses should be a Graduate or post Graduate with at least 50% marks (For example 750 marks obtained out of 1500 marks, rounding of marks or percentage will not be allowed) and 40% marks (For example 600 marks obtained out of 1500 marks, rounding of marks or percentage will not be allowed) in case of SC, ST, OBC (excluding Creamy Layer) category of Madhya Pradesh in aggregate of any UGC/AICTE approved Indian University or from a foreign University recognized by Association of Indian Universities (AIU) or institute recognized by the concerned University as equivalent thereto.

The Bachelor's degree must be of minimum three years duration after passing Higher Secondary (10+2) examination of (10+2) system or equivalent.

MCA COURSE:

A candidate seeking admission to MCA Course should be a Graduate of any UGC/AICTE approved Indian University or from a foreign University recognized by Association of Indian Universities (AIU) or institute recognized by the concerned University as equivalent thereto. The Bachelor's degree must be of minimum three years duration in any discipline with Mathematics as compulsory or an additional subject at either Higher Secondary (10+2) or at Graduation level. Candidates with Bachelor of Computer Application (B.C.A.) degree of minimum three years duration are also eligible for admission.

Candidates should submit application form online only from 28.01.2010 to 26.02.2010 either through www.vyapam.nic.in or www.mponline.gov.in website on payment ofexamination fee Rs.700/- in case applying for MCA, Rs.1300/- for MET and Rs.1500/- for both MCA and MET exams along with additional RS.50/- (online service charges), either through Credit Card or Cash Payment from the authorized Kiosks of mponline.

In an effort to cope with enormous expansion, while continuing to maintain its high academic standards, the University of Delhi in the early seventies, initiated a new organization pattern based on the concept of a multi-campus institution. Following this policy, the University started the South Campus in 1973 as an experiment in multi-campus system with a focus on interdisciplinary programmes in Social Sciences, Humanities and Applied Sciences. During the past two and a half decades, the campus has emerged as a pioneer institution of higher education, learning and research and has acquired an identity of its own.

The University of Delhi South Campus has decided to conduct a joint admission test for two of its flagship programmes, namely Master of Finance and Control (MFC) and Master of Business Economics (MBE). The admission test, followed by Group Discussion and Personal Interview of shortlisted candidates, will form the basis of admission to these courses. The candidates shall have the option to apply for either or for both the programmes by paying the appropriate fee as indicated later in this prospectus.

Department of Financial Studies (University of Delhi)

Eligibility:    

Graduate (under 10 + 2 + 3) / Post-graduate in any discipline with 50% marks, from the University of Delhi or any other University recognised as equivalent there to. Students appearing in the final year of Bachelor's Degree examination in 2010 are eligible to appear in the Joint Admission Test. However, they should meet the above-mentioned eligibility requirements latest by September 15, 2010.

Note: The selected candidates must submit their final year results by September 15, 2010, failing which their admission will be automatically cancelled.

Candidates must ensure that they satisfy the above eligibility conditions before applying. If, at any stage of the admission process, a candidate is found ineligible, his/her application will be cancelled immediately – no queries/clarifications shall be entertained in this regard.

Reservation: The Department will follow University norms regarding reservation of seats for SC/ST, OBC, Physically Challenged candidates and Children/Widows of Officers and Men of the Armed Forces including Para- Military Personnel killed or disabled in action at wars. Foreign students studying in Indian Universities are required to appear in the Admission Test. In addition to the number of seats specified for these programmes, supernumerary seats are available for foreign students. All foreign students need to apply through the Dean, Foreign Students c/o Faculty of Management Studies, University of Delhi, and Delhi-110007 - (For further details visit http://www.du.ac.in). In the case of foreign students who are not required to appear for the Test, preference will be given to those who furnish their latest GMAT and TOEFL scores. All foreign students are required to meet the requirements as specified by Dean, Foreign students.

Selection Procedure:  The short listing of the candidates for admission to the MFC and MBE programmes will be done on the basis of their performance in the Entrance Test which seeks to test the aptitude of the candidates for studies in business analysis and management. The Entrance Test will consist of multiple choice questions relating to English Comprehension and Verbal Ability, Analytical Reasoning, Data Interpretation and Data Sufficiency, Quantitative Ability (covering Basic Arithmetic, Algebra, Calculus, Basic Statistics and Data Analysis) and Current Business Environment. The result of the entrance test is expected by April 2, 2010. The short listed candidates will be called for group discussion and personal interview. Candidates called for group discussion and interview shall bear travel and other incidental expenses themselves. In all cases, the decision of the Admission Committee shall be final.

Age: The candidate should have attained the age of 20 years on the 1st of October in the year in which admission is sought.

Fee payable: At present the MFC students are required to pay an annual fee of Rs. 11,500/- at the time of admission. Students selected to the MBE programme are required to pay an annual fee of Rs.11, 361/- The foreign students would have to pay an annual fee as per university rules. The fee may be revised from time to time by the University.

Test Centers: The admission Test will be held on Sunday, March 21, 2010 between 11.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m at Delhi, Bangalore, Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Luck now and Mumbai. The University can change/cancel any test centre.

The application form duly completed (accompanied by a self-addressed envelope of size 10" x 4.5" bearing postage stamp worth Rs. 25/- (If mailing address is outside Delhi and NCR) or postage stamp worth Rs. 12/- (if mailing address is in Delhi or NCR i.e., Gurgaon / Faridabad / Ghaziabad / NOIDA) for Admission Tickets to be sent via Speed Post) should reach the office of the Department of Financial Studies, Room No.329 or Department of Business Economics, Room No.229, University of Delhi, South Campus, Benito Juarez Road, New Delhi 110021 latest by February 24, 2010 (Forms will not be accepted on Saturday, Sunday and Holidays).

Application forms which have been downloaded from the website must be accompanied by a demand draft of appropriate amount favouring- The Director, University of Delhi, South Campus and mailed to or submitted at Department of Financial Studies, or at Department of Business Economics, Arts Faculty Building, University of Delhi, South Campus, Benito Juarez Road, New Delhi-110021. Candidates applying for both the courses must attach a demand draft of Rs. 1200/- (Rs. 500/- for SC/ST candidates) and those applying for only one course should attach demand draft for Rs. 700/- (Rs. 300/- for SC/ST candidates) SC/ST/OBC candidates and candidates applying in the physically challenged category must submit a copy of caste/medical certificate along with the form. Applications without a valid caste/ medical certificate are liable to be rejected summarily. The candidates are advised to contact the University in case of any delay in receiving the Prospectus or Admission Ticket. The University will not be responsible for any postal delays. Disputes, if any, arising out of or relating to any matter whatsoever, concerning the process of admission shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent court in Delhi only.

Eligibility:    

Age: Only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or before 31st December, 1993 (minimum 17 years of age as on 31st December, 2010).

Minimum Qualification: The candidates must have passed the 10+2, i.e. I.S.C/Intermediate Examination or its equivalent from a recognized Board/ University. The Candidates must have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 60% (For SC/ST/OBCcandidates 50%) marks in aggregate taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology and atleast 50% (For SC/ST/OBC candidates 40%) marks separately in each subject in the qualifying examination.

Delhi University's Department of Financial Studies (DFS) and Department of Business Economics (DBE) will conduct a joint entrance exam for admission to Delhi University's two courses like two-year Master of Finance and Control (MFC) Course and two year Master of Business Economics (MBE) Course.

Courses will commence from July 2010

Delhi University also offer professional courses like MBA, MHROD at Delhi School of Economics.

Admission test will be held on 21st march 2010 at various centers in India.

The Scholarships are available for all courses. For Post Graduate courses the value of scholarship is Rs. 1 lakh each and for UG course, Rs. 72,000 each. Students applying for management seats are not eligible for scholarship. Selection will be through a written test. The applicants must fall into one of the following categories:

Wards of serving Army personnel with minimum 10 years continuous service in the Army.

Wards of ex-Army personnel granted/awarded regular pension, liberalized family pension, family pension or disability pension at the time of their superannuation, demise, discharge, release medical board/invalided medical board. This includes wards of recruits medically boarded out and granted disability pension.

Wards of ex-Army personnel who have taken discharge/ release after ten years of service.

Adopted/Step Children and Children of Remarried Widows: (i) Adopted Child of Army personnel who completed 10 years service, adopted at least five years prior to seeking admission, (ii) Step Children are eligible provided they are born out of a wedding where at least one parent belonged to the Army and completed 10 years service, (iii) Children of Widows of Army personnel who are born as a result of second marriage with Army personnel. Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test - 2010 (GPAT - 2010)

The Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT 2010) would be conducted under the aegis of National Monitoring Committee, All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi by The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara, for the first time as per AICTE letter (No DO No Acad/GPAT/2010 dated 02.12.2009).

GPAT 2010 examination would be conducted along with JAM-2010 examination on 2nd May 2010 at different centers (to be notified) through out India.

The Scores in Graduate Aptitude Test for Engineering (GATE) have been in use till the year 2009 for admission in Master’s Programme in Pharmacy (MPharm) and also for awarding fellowships/scholarships to Pharmacy Graduate along with engineering graduates. The Organizing Committee for GATE has expressed its inability to include Pharmacy graduates in GATE with effect from the year 2010, owing to operational problems due to large number of candidates appearing for GATE examination.

Therefore, in order to facilitate admission of Pharmacy graduates in MPharm as also to award fellowships/scholarships to Pharmacy graduates, AICTE decided to organize and conduct an examination in the name of Graduate Pharmacy Aptitude Test (GPAT) with effect from academic year 2010-11. Accordingly, a National Monitoring Committee (NMC) was constituted for monitoring the issues pertaining to the policy as well as conduct of GPAT examination.

NMC has recommended for the conduct of 1st GPAT examination for Pharmacy graduates, ie GPAT-2010 by ‘The MS University of Baroda’, Vadodara–390 002, who have agreed to conduct the examination on May 02, 2010 throughout the country.

The MS University of Baroda, Vadodara is the sole authority for conducting GPAT-2010 examination through out the country and declaring the result for the year 2010.

ELIGIBILITY FOR GPAT 2010

Persons holding Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy (4 years after 10+2) or appearing in the Final year examination of BPharmacy (4 years after 10+2) in the year 2010 only are eligible for appearing for GPAT-2010 examination.

For BTech (4 years) Course: -

Candidates applying for BTech (4 year) Course should fulfill the following criteria.

1. Candidates who have passed 10+2 examination in 2008, 2009 or appearing in 10+2 examination in 2010 are only eligible to apply for BTech (4 year) course of the University.

2. Should have studied in regular full time formal education in their schooling / college.

3. Pass in 10 +2 or its equivalent with atleast 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics taken together.

10+2 pass with Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English with at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology taken together for general category candidates and 40% marks in Physics, Chemistry & Biology taken together for SC/ST Candidates.

Age: Lower age should be 17 years as on 01.07.10 & upper age limit should be maximum 25 years as on 01.07.10. The upper age limit may be relaxed by three year for SC/ST candidates.

Cochin University of Science and Technology

Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission to the various academic programmes for the year 2010-11 as listed below. Admissions are based on Common Admission Test (CAT) / Departmental Admission Test (DAT) / Test for Lateral Entry (LET) and all applicants intending to apply for the academic programmes listed under 1.1, 1.2., 2, and 4 are required to submit their applications through Online Registration whereas for programmes listed under 3.1, 3.2, 3.3. and 3.4 the application forms can be had from the concerned departments/schools. Eligibility conditions and other particulars are given in the detailed notification published in the www.cusat.nic.in. Candidates who have appeared/are appearing in full for their final qualifying examinations are also eligible to apply. All UGC specified degrees, diplomas etc. awarded by UGC approved Statutory Universities are recognized by this University for admission to various courses. However, Distance Education Courses will be considered as recognized, only if they are further approved by the Distance Education Council, New Delhi also. On-line registration will commence on 11-01-2010.

Those who are applying for First Degree Programmes in Engineering & Technology (BTech and 5 year Integrated MSc in Photonics): the CAT will be conducted on All India basis with test centres in New Delhi, Kolkatta, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Jamshedpur, Allahabad, Lucknow, Ranchi, Varanasi, Kota and all District Head Quarters of Kerala.

Those who are applying for PG Programmes / both First Degree Programmes including BBA - LLB (Hons) / and PG Programmes: the CAT will be conducted only in the Centres at all the district head quarters of Kerala. Lateral Entry Test will be conducted only at Kochi Centre. The DATs are conducted at Kochi by the individual Departments./Schools/Centre of the University and the dates will be announced later.

The University reserves the right to cancel all or to shift or merge any of the notified test centers for administrative reasons including dates/rules and regulations relating to programmes of study, eligibility, reservation, admission criteria, fee structure and other relevant matters. All disputes related to CAT shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Courts at Kochi only. Appearance in the CAT or figuring in the Rank list does not ipso facto confer any right for admission to a particular course unless found suitable as per the eligibility criteria as amended from time to time.

e. BTech in Marine Engg (Residential Programme)

Pass in Plus Two or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English as separate subjects with a PCM average of not less than 60% marks & minimum 50% for Mathematics and should have obtained 50% marks in English at 10th or 12th standards. This is applicable to the SC/ST candidates also.

Vocational/Diploma students are not eligible to apply.

The Maximum age limit prescribed is 25 years as on 1st September of the year of admission.

f. BTech in Naval Architecture & Ship Building.

Admissions to the following MTech programmes are based on valid GATE score as prescribed under the academic regulations specific to each programme. SC/ST candidates are eligible for admission to the courses mentioned under 2 above if 1) they have pass mark in the qualifying examination 2) a valid gate score 3) in the absence of GATE qualified candidates candidate not possessing GATE will be considered.

PhD programmes are offered in all the teaching Departments/Schools and recognized Institutions of the University. Candidates are advised to ascertain the areas of research and the availability of vacancies from the Departments/Schools or Recognized Institutions before-hand. Candidates intending to do research in  he Recognized Institutions of the University are to obtain application forms from the University Departments/Schools dealing with the discipline of their choice.

4.Lateral Entry (LET) to BTech

Diploma recognized by the Board of Technical Education of the States after undergoing a regular course of 3 years duration with not less than 60% marks.

5.FOREIGN NATIONAL STUDENTS

1. International students are exempted from the requirement of admission test (CAT/DAT) for the academic programmes of the University. They can apply either on self financing basis or through the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) attached to the Ministry of Human Resources Development of the Govt. of India. They are required to submit the application through online for the academic programme of the University on payment of US$ 100 by way of Demand Draft / Pay order/Any other instrument (which does not involve collection charges on the part of the University) in favour of Registrar, CUSAT payable at New York.

2. Applicants who have successfully Registered online with CUSAT may forward an advance copy of the confirmation page along with payment of registration fee (D.D/Pay Order) and relevant documents to the following address. The original confirmation page should be forwarded with necessary documents through the Embassy of India in the respective country.

6. IMPORTANT POINTS AT A GLANCE

6.1. Only Online applications will be considered for all BTech Programmes including Lateral Entry Programmes, 5 year Integrated MSc in Photonics, 5 year BBA LLB (Hons), Post Graduate Programmes, and MTech Programmes

6.2. For MPhil, MA Translation in German and Russian, PhD, Diploma and Certificate programmes, applications can be had from the concerned Departments/Schools/Centres either directly or by post.
                                            
6.3. Fee Details:

Mode of payment: For Online registration (6.1) – Chalan to be downloaded and the payment should be made only through the bank of SBI or SBT and others (6.2) by way Demand Draft (DD) in favour of Registrar, CUSAT payable at Ernakulam

Rs 850/- for General Category Candidates and Rs 375/- for SC/ST Category

Rs 5850/- for candidates who apply under NRI Quota

Diploma and Certificate Programmes – Rs 100/- for general category and Rs 50/- for SC/ST category.

DDs issued by SBT or SBI should only be accepted. Candidates should write his/her name and Application No. on upper left hand corner of the reverse side of the DD. The DD should be taken on or after the date of CAT 2010 Notification. DD taken after the last date fixed for the submission of application will not be accepted.

7. ALLOCATION OF SEATS

Of the total seats for BTech (Self-Financing) programmes 50% are free seats, 40% are payment seats and 10% are NRI payment seats. The free seats are earmarked for Keralite students. For BTech in Naval Architecture & Ship Building, Instrumentation and Polymer Science and Engineering 10% of the seats are reserved for students on all India basis (All India Quota) and the remaining seats for Keralites. For all regular Post-Graduate Programmes including subsidized Post-Graduate programmes like MCA, MBA (International Business), MBA (Travel & Tourism) and 5 year Integrated MSc in Photonics programme 10% of the seats are set apart for students on all India basis (All India Quota) and the remaining for Keralites. For Post-Graduate programmes under Self-Financing sector 50% of the seats are given for Keralites, 10% for NRI’s and the remaining 40% open to all.

A candidate will be considered as a ‘Keralite for the limited purpose of eligibility for admission, if

a) He/She or his/her father/mother was born in Kerala OR

b) He/She has been a resident of Kerala for a period of 5 years within a period of 12 years OR

c) He/She has undergone his/her school studies from standards VIII to XII in educational institution(s) in Kerala OR

d) Children of All India Service (AIS) Officers (Non Keralites) allotted to Kerala circle are deemed to be “Keralites” [GO (Rt) No.822/H.Edn dated 29.05.2008]. But they will not be eligible for Communal/Special Reservations.

Rules for communal reservation framed by the Government of Kerala and implemented in the University from time to time will be applicable to the various academic programmes. 8. GENERAL INFORMATION

1. MTech Marine Bio-Technology: Selection of candidates is done by Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) on behalf of Department of Biotechnology, Government of India through a National Test along with all such examinations conducted by the University (JNU). 3. Application forms for programmes listed under 3.3 and 3.4 are available only from the respective Departments.

4. Candidates applying for both BTech Programmes and Lateral Entry Programmes through online should remit the required fees specified for each programme.

5. Entry requirements for each Programme are given under ‘Eligibility Criteria’. The responsibility for ensuring satisfactory compliance to the prescribed criteria is vested solely with the applicant. Claims found untenable upon subsequent scrutiny shall result in summary disqualification of the applicant concerned and cancellation of any or all admission processes undergone.

6. The choice of the Test Subject/Test Centre/Course Code is the sole responsibility of the applicant and the selection once exercised in the online registration shall be final and irrevocable.

How To Apply:    

1. HOW TO REGISTER ONLINE

I.  Candidates are instructed to read thoroughly all information published in the www.cusat.nic.in before filling up the application

II. Candidates are required to fill in all details correctly (SC/ST, Communal /Special Reservation/OEC etc.) failing which the claim under the said categories will not be considered at all.

III. Duly filled Confirmation sheet without the required amount of chalan receipt (University copy), recent colour photograph and signature will be summarily rejected without any notice.

IV.  Any anomaly in the details furnished during the online registration leading to rejection of the application will be the sole responsibility of the candidate. Hence the registration must be done with the utmost attention without making any error.

V.   If any entries are incorrect /missing, press the back button for going back to the entry form.

VI.  If the candidate is satisfied with the entries after verifying the preview, press the ‘Confirm’ button for completing the registration process, and take two print out of the confirmation page. Candidate should sent one copy of the confirmation page (filled up) along with the copy of fee paid Chalan Receipt (University copy) to the Director, IRAA and retain sufficient copy of confirmation page and chalan receipt for future reference.

VII.  Request for change of test centre will not be entertained under any circumstances.

1. Confirmation page of the Online application along with the chalan receipt should reach “The Director, IRAA Unit, Cochin University of Science & Technology, Cochin University P.O., Kochi – 682022, Kerala, India” on or before the last date prescribed above either by Speed or Registered Post.

2. Sale of Application forms for the programmes listed under 3.1, 3.2, 3.3, & 3.4 will commence from 11.01.2010. Filled up applications for the programmes listed 3.1, 3.2, 3.3 and 3.4 should reach the concerned Department/Schools on or before 19.02.2010.
